The National School for Training and Improvement of Magistrates (Enfam) inaugurated, this Monday (March 16th), the Digital Library (BDE). The initiative, aimed at expanding access to legal knowledge and supporting the institutional mission of the School, is now available for consultation. The BDE was carried out in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), through the project on Qualitative Judicial Training.

The Library has several resources, such as the possibility to store and consult various formats of documents and materials relevant to the Legal area in a virtual environment with easy access and navigation. In addition, the system has advanced search and information organization mechanisms, which facilitates the retrieval of content by users. Another differential is the integration with persistent identifiers and identification systems of researchers, such as Orcid, ensuring more reliability in identifying authors and publications.

The civil server Tânia Cristina de Oliveira explains that the platform gathers, organizes and makes available relevant digital content for the permanent update of members of the Judiciary, researchers and other professionals in Law.

“The BDE seeks to facilitate access to information and ensure that the collection offers materials that contribute to judicial decisions and the improvement of the judicial activity. This project strengthens the preservation and intellectual production of Enfam, as well as promoting dissemination and democratic access to legal knowledge", she said.

A member of the Qualitative Judicial Training team, Librarian Vandeilson Neri has been following the BDE project from the beginning and says that the next steps are to give Enfam full autonomy in managing its own digital environment, with specialized curatorship and full control over its content. "This allows centralizing all the documentary production of the School, strengthening the institutional identity and facilitating the preservation and organized access to knowledge generated by the magistracy", he comments.

According to the librarian, among the priorities in updating the collection is the support of the document management and institutional memory program of Enfam, with joint efforts to create a continuous flow of analysis, preservation and dissemination of historical records and institutional narratives. Collaborative exchange actions with other institutions will also be carried out in order to add value to the collection, enrich information sources and broaden reach for the internal public, magistrates throughout the country and society in general.

"Another fundamental pillar is the guarantee of remote access, democratic and truly inclusive, with advanced digital accessibility features such as tools adapted for people with disabilities, intuitive interfaces, efficient search, personalized filters and simplified download, in line with modern information and communication technologies. These advances directly contribute to the sustainability of the operation: they reduce operational costs, eliminate unnecessary impressions, optimize processes and promote more efficient and eco-friendly practices", details Vandeilson.

Strengthened judicial education

For the secretary of Administrative, Budgetary and Financial Management of Enfam, Ivan Gomes Bonifácio, this is an important step for the School, as it strengthens the teaching and learning process of members of the Judiciary.

“This process is not limited to the classroom. It is strengthened mainly through research. Institutions dedicated to education, such as Enfam, need an environment capable of gathering, organizing and making available all their academic and intellectual production. The Digital Library emerges, in this context, as a structured space for easy access to qualified information, which directly contributes to the improvement of its users", he highlighted.

Ivan also noted that the project has strategic relevance by creating a two-way street between intellectual production and the academic and educational world. "This generates a flow of ideas and content among all those who want to improve, also ensuring that the Enfam brand is known as an institution of teaching relevance in the academic and judicial world," said the secretary.
